Visitor Handicaps

Visitors should be members of recognised Golf Clubs or societies and affiliated to a Golfing Union. Handicap certificates may be requested.

Advance Bookings

We will endeavour to accommodate casual visitors but advance booking is recommended. A non returnable deposit in the event of cancellation will be expected  and will be deducted from green fees and subject to forfeiture if a reduction in numbers is not notified at least 7 days prior to date of play.

Green fees

Green fees must be paid to the starter prior to commencement of play – the settlement of party bookings is the responsibility of the organiser.

Play on the Course

Slow play destroys the enjoyment for many players. Visitors, like everyone else, are expected to maintain a reasonable pace. As a guide, a 3 ball game should take a maximum of 3 ˝ hours to complete. Players are expected to watch the pattern of play, both in front of and behind their own game, and please give way if you are holding up the match following their own and there is a gap in front.

Format of play

Medal play in 2 or 3 balls only. 4 ball matches may be played providing individual scores are NOT recorded. Texas Scramble matches are NOT allowed on the Links.

Hire of Pull Trolleys

Trolleys may be hired from the Starter – with limited availability it is essential that these are pre booked.

Dress Code

An acceptable standard of dress for Golf on the Links and clubhouses is expected. The wearing of football/rugby type shirts and shorts, sleeveless vests, collarless tee shirts or track suits are not allowed, Golf shoes must be worn. No mobile phones are allowed on the course.

Temporary Members

Visitors are given the status of temporary members of either club for the duration of their visit and accorded the privileges of the respective clubhouse. Visitors are required to sign the Visitors Book.

Alcohol

All ALCOHOLIC drinks are BANNED on the Links.

Adverse Weather

Fog. In the event of fog or haar while on the golf course, the decision to stop or continue play lies with the golfers, as it is recognised that conditions can change from minute to minute. Golfers on the first tee will be advised of the conditions by the starter. If golfers decide not to start, reasonable endeavours will be made to reschedule either later that day or the following day depending on availability. If visitors cannot reschedule, a refund will be offered. If golfers decide to play but do not complete 18 holes, refunds will not apply.

Heavy Rain. When heavy rain is expected, the holes are moved to high ground, where possible. If it is still impossible to putt out then the course will be temporarily closed and play suspended.  Golfers on the course should take shelter. When it is possible for play to restart, golfers should resume their game at their places on the course. If golfers decide to abandon their round, rather than wait for the rain to cease, refunds will not apply. Golfers on the first tee will be advised that the course is temporary closed and reasonable endeavours will be made to reschedule. If visitors cannot reschedule, a refund will be offered.
