Leven is located on the majestic sweeping sandy Largo Bay.
It is the first Championship standard course that a visitor comes to when travelling from either Edinburgh Airport or Edinburgh Rosyth Ferry port to the “Home of Golf”.
Leven is strategically placed at the gateway to Fife’s East Neuk that is most famous for its picturesque fishing villages such as Anstruther, Crail, Elie, Pittenweem and St. Monans with their old cottages and merchants houses with crow-stepped gables and red pan-tiled roofs, huddling round their stone-built harbours.
Lower Largo has the statue of Alexander Selkirk who was the real Robinson Crusoe and on whom Daniel Defoe based his famous novel.
This whole area offers the discerning golfer over forty other golf courses after having played the traditional and historic Leven Links and non-golfing partners can sample the additional attractions that this ancient and unique Kingdom offers.
The choice of accommodation ranges from the extensive number of mainly small privately operated hotels to the huge number of bed and breakfast establishments.
Our coastal location provides the fresh fish served in many of the high quality restaurants that also pride themselves on using the locally sourced meat and seasonal vegetables.
Anstruther also has the world famous Fish Bar that has fed Royalty and celebrities from the four corners of the globe.
Leven and Elie beaches hold The Blue Flag for bathers and sun worshipers, the Fife Coastal Path passes both and provides a very interesting and relaxing challenge for the walkers.
St. Andrews is probably our most famous neighbour and is only fifteen miles away and it provides its own unique attractions for the visitor including two very special Italian ice cream purveyors.
The Kingdom of Fife has a huge number of visitor attractions including the historic, the cultural, the food and drink and last but not least the Golf.
